Superconducting Magnet Features:
 
• 12.5 Tesla central magnetic flux density at 4.2 K
• 5 part in 106 homogeneity over 10 mm diameter spherical volume
• Sweeping coil flux density magnitude ± 0.06 Tesla
• Sweeping coil homogeneity 0.015%
• Current decay in persistent mode 10-5 per hour
• Magnet clear bore diameter 112 mm
• Continuous flow cryostat operating from 4.2 K to room temperature with the
   THz beam delivery to the sample using a corrugated waveguide
• Computer control of all functions using LabVIEW software

Access Procedure: 
Campus users contact facility for training.
 
Non-UC use of the below labs is governed by these procedures:
  1. Contact the Lab Manager to ensure the equipment/lab is available for your schedule.
  2. Contact Calli Price, Procurement Services Manager, at contracts@bfs.ucsb.edu (link sends e-mail)  and copy Rita Makogon, ITST Manager, at rita@itst.ucsb.edu to complete the required Agreement, individual waivers, insurance, and lab safety training requirements.
  3. Once all documents are approved and training is complete, users will be connected with the appropriate Lab Manager for department/equipment-specific training and Lab access.
