The mission of the Laboratory for Stem Cell Biology and Engineering is to foster an interdisciplinary program of stem cell research and teaching in the emerging field of regenerative medicine.

The Laboratory for Stem Cell Biology and Engineering was established to provide a shared stem cell culture facility in support of human embryonic stem cell (hESC) research at UCSB and at neighboring institutions. The primary objectives of this facility are hESC culture training, research, and quality control.
