Waters UPLC-MS

Achieve stunning separations and accurate masses with the Waters Acquity H-class Ultra High Pressure Liquid Chromatography (UPLC) system coupled with a Waters Xevo G2-XS Time-of-Flight Mass Spectrometer. With an electrospray ionization (ESI) source, the ToF MS can provide mass data up to 100,000 m/z either operating with the UPLC or independently, and signals can be optimized by operating in resolution or sensitivity mode. Whether you want to resolve the parent ion or its fragments, using increased collision energy, both results can be collected, providing your desired quantitative or qualitative results. High resolution (10 ppm or less) can also be acheived with a special calibration.

Access Procedure:
Users of the MRL Synthesis and Characterization Laboratory are required to go through two levels of training before they are authorized to perform data collection independently. The training consists of
  • General lab safety training, provided by the UCSB Environmental Health & Safety Department (EH&S).
  • Instrument training, conducted by development engineer or an authorized user delegated by the development engineer.
