The UCSB Chemistry and Biochemistry Department is home to 35 faculty, 165 graduate students, 30 postdoctoral researchers and 28 staff members. Research in thier deprtments includes Organic, Inorganic, Materials, Physical, Theoretical and Computational chemistry and Biochemistry areas.  Home to two Nobel Chemistry prize winneres, UCSB Chem and Biochem was ranked 8th in the world over the period of 1997-2007.
